All my life I have felt as if I were meant to be living in a different era. While I haven’t figured out how to time travel, yet, everyday I have the chance to slip back into another time, through what I wear, how I decorate and even how I entertain in my home. I started this vintage fashion blog as a way to share how we can live a modern life, with the magic of the past sprinkled into our fashion and our homes.
So what inspired my love for vintage fashion and home decor?
Growing up on the Jersey Shore, my favorite pastime was frequenting the antique shops in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and buying lots of hats, gloves and parasols. As a little girl, I poured over boxes of antique family photographs, daydreaming about these ancestors and adoring their vintage outfits. This led to a lifelong love affair of collecting antiques, vintage clothing and researching my family genealogy.
I live on the Gulf of Mexico in sunny Florida with my husband, Kells Hetherington. His passion is sailing, so you will often find me sitting on our balcony with binoculars, watching him race. We met in Washington D.C and got engaged only 19 only days later! Before Washington, I lived in New York City for ten years where I started my career at Deutsche Bank and worked for a number of hedge funds and the Episcopal Church. I am also passionate about ovarian cancer awareness and have been a board member of Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for ten years.
I hope you will join me for a fresh look at vintage fashion and home decor.
